Ecometric approach: Projects population (age, gender, race, geographical location); 2. Labor force (age, gender, race, educational level); 3. Assume minimum unemployment based on estimated GNP trends; 4. Estimate based on above data, BLS model, US department of Labor. Most sophisticated labor forecasting method in used today. More relevant at the state and Regional levels.
